CONCERTONE 2024

Concertmaster SHABLO

Conductor RICCARDO ZANGIROLAMI

Theme 2024: Generation Taranta

Visionary international producer SHABLO is the maestro concertatore of the 27th edition of the La Notte della Taranta Concertone, the spectacular show that is a symbol of Salento's popular culture and one of the world's most participatory collective music and dance rituals, scheduled for Aug. 24 in Melpignano (LE).

La Notte della Taranta chooses Shablo's creative multiverse for an ambitious edition that moves from genre fusion to a mix of musical trends, projecting the event, with its two hundred thousand spectators, into the Olympus of world festivals.

A point of reference in Italian urban music of the last two decades, Pablo Miguel Lombroni Capalbo, aka Shablo, is an Italo-Argentine musician, producer, manager, DJ and record producer, among the very few to range from soul to trap, from rap to avant-garde electronica. Founder and administrator of some of the most innovative and prolific entrepreneurial realities in the record industry, Shablo accepted the invitation of the La Notte della Taranta Foundation with the enthusiasm of someone who, thanks to his skill can make seemingly distant musical worlds dialogue, in perfect balance between past and future.

Shablo will be joined by pianist and composer prodigy Riccardo Zangirolami, who at only 23 years old has already conducted the iconic Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra. A student of Conrad Pope, Zangirolami collaborates with maestro Andrea Morricone. He is responsible for some of the orchestral arrangements of artists Marracash, Elisa and Giorgia.

Theme of the 2024 edition is Generazione Taranta, the musical narrative through the choice of the most beloved lyrics since 1998, the year the most famous Night in Italy was born. A Concert that will tell the story of the young people who grew up with the Notte della Taranta. A generation that accepts cultural differences and promotes a social environment open to dialogue, inclusion and diversity. Immersed in digital and the sounds of the world, Generazione Taranta has included songs from the Salento tradition in its playlists, making itself a protagonist of the Taranta journey.

The Melpignano Concert is a cultural project of the Fondazione La Notte della Taranta supported by the Region of Puglia and Pugliapromozione in collaboration with Unione dei Comuni della Grecìa salentina and Istituto Diego Carpitella.
