THE ORCHESTRONA OF THE SCHOOL OF POPULAR MUSIC OF FORLIMPOPOLI

The Orchestrona of the School of Popular Music of Forlimpopoli is, at the same time, an ensemble music course and the group that has been involved in popular music for over 35 years. Davide Castiglia, has created an absolutely atypical formation, a mixture of a band and an orchestra, a faithful synthesis of the musical project that the Association is pursuing. The formation sees students and already experienced musicians side by side, through a journey of discovery of what are the "classics" and "standards" of the School of Popular Music, ranging among the folk melodies of Italy, France, Germany, Ireland, without neglecting some pieces of the ancient "liscio," telling the heterogeneous richness and enthralling beauty of traditional music. For the 2023 edition of the festival, L'Orchestrona proposes, in addition to the established repertoire, a special revisiting "in a folk key" of some iconic songs from the history of Italian and international rock.

Then it will be the turn of I Calanti

I Calanti, a Salento folk music group of five musicians and four dancers, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, during which time they have released six record works, and recently presented their new video clip "Caddhripulina."
