With a post on the official social channels of the Concertone, ANGELINA MANGO announced her participation in the Notte della Taranta. The artist will be a guest on August 24 at the Melpignano Concertone in Salento.
"Hi everyone, I'm Angelina Mango and I wanted to tell you that on August 24 I will be a guest at the Notte della Taranta in Melpignano in Puglia. I can't wait, I'm very excited, it's a great thing, a great honor for me to participate, so don't miss it!" With these words, the artist invited the Taranta people to participate in the event among the most anticipated of the Italian summer.
Concertmaster Shablo chose the revelation artist of 2024 to celebrate the theme of the 27th edition: generation Taranta.
Angelina Mango with ten platinum records, three gold records and more than 579 million audio and video streams, released her first unreleased album "poké melodrama" on May 31, which debuted directly at #1 on the FIMI/Gfk chart and was the best-selling and most listened to album of that week. Angelina Mango is the second Italian artist to reach #1 in 2024 in Italy on the FIMI/Gfk album charts, preceded only by Taylor Swift. "poké melodrama" contains the song "la noia," already triple platinum with more than 207 million audio and video streams, with which the singer-songwriter triumphed at the Sanremo Festival and represented Italy at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. "La noia" is the most listened to song ever on Spotify by an Italian solo artist and is also the most listened to Italian solo song abroad in 2024 on the platform. Angelina Mango is touring major festivals in Italy and Europe this summer and will continue in October with an Italian club tour - all sold out - and a European club tour in November that has sold out several dates.
On the Melpignano stage, Angelina will perform traditional Salento songs arranged in a contemporary key by Shablo and will give a brand new version of one of her most famous songs that will embrace the ancestral rhythm of the tambourine.
In the 2024 edition of La Notte della Taranta, the Concertone will celebrate the popular culture of Apulia from Sannicandro Garganico to Santa Maria di Leuca in a long journey of hypnotic pizziche, soundtracks of the magic of the places it passes through.
The Melpignano Concert will be broadcast live in prime time on RAI 3 and Rai Radio 2.
